President Yamagiwa and EVP Inaba attend Japan-China University Fair & Forum in China 2016 (6-7 May2016)

On 6-7 May 2016, the Japan-China University Fair & Forum in China 2016 was held at the Academic Hall of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) in Beijing, China. Representing Kyoto University were President Juichi Yamagiwa and Professor Kayo Inaba, executive vice-president for gender equality, international affairs, and public relations. President Yamagiwa gave a lecture and took part in a panel discussion on the qualities of leading international universities and global human resource development.

The Forum was co-organized by the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and UCAS, focusing on education and research development at world-class universities. Presidents of twelve prominent Japanese and Chinese universities discussed and shared information on issues facing their institutions, including balancing education and research, responding to globalization, and contributing to society.

On 7 May, President Yamagiwa and EVP Inaba visited the National Agricultural Exhibition Center in Beijing, where the Japan-China University Fair was underway. They visited the Kyoto University booth and encouraged its staff members, who were providing advice and guidance to Chinese students interested in studying at Kyoto University.
