On 19 June, President Juichi Yamagiwa and Wildlife Research Center Professor Genichi Idani were inaugurated as special academic advisor and academic advisor, respectively, to Kyoto City Zoo, in a ceremony where each received a letter of appointment from Kyoto City Mayor Daisaku Kadokawa.
As advisors, President Yamagiwa and Professor Idani are anticipated to contribute their expertise in education, research, and zoo administration to assist the municipal zoo with administration and management, educational programming, and efforts to enhance cultural and other activities.
