Professor Yamada of CiRA selected for 13th Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Prize (27 December 2016)

Professor Yasuhiro Yamada of the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, has been selected to receive the 13th Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Prize this year.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place Wednesday 8 February 2017 at the Japan Academy (Nippon Gakushi-in) in Tokyo.

The JSPS Prize honors highly potential up-and-coming researchers in their early careers, in order to encourage them to deliver breakthrough achievements. The awardees are expected to lead the advancement of their fields, and to be future candidates for internationally recognized awards, such as the Nobel Prize.

The JSPS Prize selection committee, which is comprised of world-leading researchers including Dr Ryoji Noyori, a 2001 Nobel Prize laureate, selects the awardees through careful consideration.
